Church Planter Cohort VIII (2021-2022)

Members of our Church Planter Cohort spend a year developing the skills necessary to sustain health, fruitful ministry as they plant or replant a church. Church planter cohorts start each Fall. The current cohort members are below.

JONATHAN DAVIS

JONATHAN DAVIS

Jonathan is planting Resurrection Presbyterian in Greenville, South Carolina. He hails from Missouri, received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University and graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in May of 2011. Prior to church planting, Jonathan served as a Campus Minister at the University of Kentucky with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) from 2011 - 2017, and then moved to Greenville in June of 2017 to begin serving as an Assistant Pastor at Downtown Presbyterian. He is married to Erin, and they have three daughters: Caroline (‘09), Margaret (’12) and Emma Katherine (’18). Resurrection launched in April of 2021.

JUSTIN GARRETT

JUSTIN GARRETT

Justin launched Athens Church (Evangelical Presbyterian Church) in April 2021, located in the north part of Kansas City, MO. He’s a transplant from Columbia, MO and recently moved to KC in January 2020, along with his wife Jen and three sons Brooks, Clayton, and Hayes. Justin served at The Crossing in Columbia, MO as Pastor of Student Ministry for 10 years prior to answering the call to church plant. Growing up in Columbia, he attended the University of Missouri and later received his MDiv from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. Outside of the church world, and in addition to family time, he enjoys basketball, reading, golf, poker, hunting, and gardening (flowers and trees...not fruits and vegetables).

MALCOLM PETTIGREW

MALCOLM PETTIGREW

Malcolm is planting Hillsborough Community Church in Hillsborough, NC in the Fall of 2022. He is currently completing a church planting residency at Chapel Hill Bible Church in Chapel Hill, NC where he served as the youth minister for the past nine years. Malcolm is a graduate of the University of Kentucky (go Wildcats!), and holds a Masters of Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary. He is married to Kelly, and they have two boys: Noah and Leo, and twin girls: Piper and Lucy.

ALEXANDER WADE

ALEXANDER WADE

Alexander Wade serves Worthy Redeemer Church as the Lead Teaching Pastor. "Wade," as his friends call him, studied marketing and played football at Northwestern College in St. Paul MN and later transferred to McNally Smith College of Music to study audio engineering. It was during this time that he came to know the Lord, fell in love with the scriptures, and church history. In 2008 he met his wife Alyssa and together, they have three children, Harrison, Samson, and Penelope. Wade completed his church planting residency at Summit Crossing Community Church in Huntsville, AL and most recently served as the Director for Member Ministry at Summit Crossing. He has over a decade of corporate leadership experience, hosts the Wrath and Grace Television Show & Podcast, and is currently enrolled at Reformed Baptist Seminary.

DANIEL DIXON

DANIEL DIXON

Daniel is planting Redeemer Fellowship Va in Northern, Virginia in January 2022. He served on staff as the DC Director with Fellowship of Christian Athletes before being called to church planting. Daniel completed a three year residency and fellowship at Redeemer Fellowship in Kansas City, Mo where he also earned his Masters of Theological Studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary before moving his family back to Northern VA. The Dixon family currently worships at All Peoples Community Church in Fairfax, VA. Daniel is married to Shelly; they have two beautiful daughters; Evelyn Grace and Josephine Charis. They also enjoy baking sourdough and buttermilk biscuits.

NICK GRAY

NICK GRAY

Nick is the lead pastor of Grace Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Grace was planted in the Spring of 2021. He has previously served as a missionary, theology teacher, and pastor. Most recently, Nick served the persecuted church around the world. This unique perspective and love for the local church has contributed to the Lord calling him to plant a church in a unique, historic neighborhood of Fort Worth. Nick has been married to Traci for twenty years and they have 12 year old twins, Austin and Zara.

COLETON SEGARS

COLETON SEGARS

Coleton will be planting a church in Memphis, TN in the fall of 2023. He has been a part of two other church plants in New York City and Memphis and has been serving as the Student Pastor of Living Hope Church in Piperton, TN for the last 5 years. Coleton graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2013 with a Masters in Divinity. Coleton has been married to his wife Rainey for 10 years and they have a 5 year old son, Teddy.
